Our Vision

We strive to produce distinctive, approachable wines that showcase the beautiful, sunny Livermore Valley.

Wine Styles

In our wines we highlight the legendary California heritage varietals: Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane, Martaro, Trousseau Gris (Grey Reisling). We also feature wines from the vibrant Mediterranean varietals: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache blanc, Picpoul blanc, Vermentino, Muscat blanc, and Bourboulenc. These grape varietals are utilized in playful blends as well as single variental wines in years we feel they particularly shine.

We utilize field blending in our vineyards. This technique involves the planting of small quantities of complimentary grape varietals, mixed into larger fields. All the grapes are then picked and fermented together, providing depth and complexity to wines.

Farming Philosophy

At Vine Farm Ridge, we believe that exceptional wines begin in the vineyard through organic farming practices that respect the land and nurture the natural balance of our ecosystem. We farm all of our own vineyards combining traditional techniques with modern understanding, focusing on soil health, biodiversity, and minimal intervention to allow the unique terroir of our hillside vineyard to express itself authentically in every bottle. All our vines are head trained allowing the vines to grow spawling out over the fruit. We believe this classic vine training system is ideal for protecting our grapes from the warm Livermore sun.
